Chelation is a binding agent that will be administered (in this case) through an I.V. . The bonding agent will attach itself to the toxins in his body and allow him to flush them from his system. The process process will require him to go back and forth between his home and the hospital (a couple of hours away) twice a week. I am sure that I don't have to tell you how much this treatment is costing them in gas ALONE! Not to mention the medical treatment that the D.O.L. is still refusing to pay for.
The Dr. seems to be confident that she can slow or even stop the progression of the poison but she has stated that the existing damage probably cannot be reversed or mended.
Moberly's current condition is that he has limited use of his legs (he often utilizes a wheelchair or crutches to get around) and he has lost some of the sight in his right eye. There are several other complications as well, each one worse than the other it would seem, but it would take a long while to write them down. However, I am sure you get the idea.
It will be a long and difficult road for him and his family but it is easier for them when they see how much support they have in us.
Thanks a lot guys!
